DEGASSERS: NO. 66 AND NO. 77 ALLOYS
The above named H. Kramer & Co. special alloys have been developed for particular purposes. They enable the foundryman to produce improved castings from difficult-to-handle alloys while at the same time reducing costs. Nickel silver alloys readily absorb gases during the melting operation and if these gases are not eliminated before the metal is poured into the mold, spongy or porous castings result. Thus, to produce quality castings of these compositions necessitates greater care and precaution than is ordinarily employed in making red brass castings.
